GAZA - Long lines of hungry people are waiting patiently outside a warehouse in Gaza Strip,to collect their rations of Ramadan food package.During the last days of this holy month of Ramadan,a local institute related to international charity organizations, is working hard to deliver food to many needy family's and individuals here in Gaza.This nonprofit local institute is cooperating with many foundations abroad to support Palestinian families with Ramadan food packages.One of the charities, the Life Institute is delivering packages with food containing floor (1 package 25 kg),rice (3 kg),oil (1 bottle),dates (5 kg),tomato sauce (2 cans),sugar (3 kg),chick-pea (3 kg),other food, including sweets, a total of 350NIS = $100. Three other organizations gives away a packages containing white cheese,oil (1 bottle),rice (3 kg),halvah,lentils, jam, beans, tomato sauce, tea and other food, including sweets,a total of 100 NIS = $30
For the Palestinians, the holy Ramadan is the Muslim fasting month.In the month of Ramadan Muslims must refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk. The tradition is to break the fast at sundown in a gathering together with friends and family for a special meal.This year Ramadan is a dark month, the hunger,and the thirst has worsen for every passing week, the distress has deepen and the poverty can be found every where.The Gaza main market-place use to bustle of life during Ramadan.This year the market is a feast for the eyes only, people watch, have no money to buy.Gaza,the home to 1.5 million people, has long been facing hardship because of high unemployment caused by decades of occupation, and lately a purposefully induced misery brought upon the Gaza Strip.
Since the popular Hamas took over the ruling power in Gaza after that the corruption within Fatah was revealed last year, an Israeli led prolonged international siege, and a Western aid boycott begun, in collaboration with the Mahmoud Abbas( Fatah)led Ramallah based self proclaimed"caretaker" government, the plot was designed, aimed to crush the popular Hamas.The terrible outcome, an economical & environmental - infrastructural devastation of Gaza and its 1.5 milj residents.Official buildings,residential homes,roads and farmlands,is destroyed by Israeli land and air born bomb and missile attacks, more then 200 Palestinians have been killed and over 1000 injured. Gaza's main border crossings are closed, limiting the shipment of goods,causing widespread shortages of everything, including food and medicine.
